Castle of Pera Monument · Sant Llorenç Savall, Vallès Occidental, Barcelona The castle of Pera was a fortification in Sant Llorenç Savall (Vallès Occidental) whose remains are declared a cultural asset of national interest. The district of Pera is first mentioned in 1017, and in 1065 the lord Gerbert Donuç bequeathed the castle, together with other possessions, to his daughter Nevia. It passed through different hands over the centuries —the Vilar, the Carner, the Viscount of Cardona, the Marquès, also lords of the castle of la Roca del Vallès— until it reached Pere de Sentmenat in 1378, a family that still held it in the 18th century. Its ruins stand atop a hill from which much of the Vall d'Horta can be seen, and it is reached by the local path C-56 from the Can Brossa farmhouse.
