Church of Polinyà Monument · Polinyà, Vallès Occidental, Barcelona The parish church of Polinyà, in the Vallès Occidental (Barcelona), stands next to the Romanesque church of Sant Salvador, consecrated in 1122. From that original building survive the semicircular 11th-century apse, decorated with blind arcades between lesenes, and the nave covered by a barrel vault and the bell tower, both 12th-century work. The church functioned as a parish until 1792, when the present neoclassical church was built. The old Romanesque building preserved an important set of 12th-century wall paintings, attributed to canon Renall of Barcelona, moved in 1930 to the Museu Diocesà de Barcelona.
