Chapel of Santa Magdalena Monument · Palau-solità i Plegamans, Vallès Occidental, Barcelona Chapel of Santa Magdalena, on the Camí de Santa Magdalena, on the right bank of the Riera de Caldes, in the municipality of Palau-solità i Plegamans (Vallès Occidental, Barcelona). It belonged to the Comanda de Palau, a Catalan commandery of the Order of the Temple; after the order's suppression in 1312, its properties passed in 1318 to the Order of the Hospital. In the late 17th century the parishioners dedicated the church to Santa Magdalena. It is a single-nave building with a barrel vault, facing east, 8.70 by 5 metres, with a voussoired round-arched doorway and an oval window in the south wall. After the disentailment of 1836 it passed into private hands and from 1879 ceased to hold worship; today only the half-ruined Mas de Santa Magdalena remains. It is declared a cultural asset of national interest. Photo: Deosringas (CC BY-SA 3.0 es) What to see and do in Palau-solità i Plegamans
