Josep Llorens i Artigas installed in 1951 his ceramics workshop at the site of El Racó, with three wood-fired kilns. Between 1953 and 1956 he worked there with Joan Miró on works such as the Labyrinth of the Maeght Foundation, and he remained active in the town until his death in 1980.
