La Creu Peak Monument · Castellar del Vallès, Vallès Occidental, Barcelona The Puig de la Creu is a mountain of 668 meters straddling the boundary between the municipalities of Castellar del Vallès and Sentmenat, in the comarca of Vallès Occidental, above a former fortified Iberian settlement. At the summit there is a geodetic vertex and a castle built between the 16th and 17th centuries, protected as Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Spain's highest level of heritage protection), and at the highest point stands the Romanesque church of Santa Maria del Puig de la Creu. According to legend, this is where the dragon of Sant Llorenç del Munt died. This peak is included on the list of the 100 summits of the Federació d'Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya.
