Castle of Vilar Monument · Sant Pere de Torelló, Osona, Barcelona Image of Sant Pere de Torelló, not of the place itself. Fortified strong house, popularly known as Castell de la Vinyeta, situated in the vall del Ges, in the municipality of Sant Pere de Torelló. Documented since 1193, it was the residence of the lords of Curull and is declared a cultural asset of national interest. Quadrangular in plan, it preserves a large fifteenth-century Gothic window divided by a mullion, while the oldest part rests on the bedrock visible at the base of the building. The entrance door, with a large flat lintel, is topped by the stone-carved coat of arms of the marquises of Cartellà. In the modern era several sections were added that transformed the building into a farmhouse; it is currently abandoned and in ruins.
