Collsacabra Nature · Rupit i Pruit, Osona, Barcelona Image of Rupit i Pruit, not of the place itself. The Collsacabra, also called Cabrerès, is a natural comarca of 142 km² situated between Osona, la Garrotxa and la Selva, bordered by the Vic plain to the west, the Sau valley and the Guilleries to the south, and the Bas valley to the east. Geomorphologically it is a plateau of the Transversal mountain range, with cliffs carved by the erosion of the Ter at Tavertet and el Far, an average altitude of 1,100 metres and its highest point at the Serra de Cabrera, at 1,307.7 metres. It is a wooded, damp area of beech woods, roure martinenc oak woods with box, and bruguerola heathland, with an economy traditionally based on farming and livestock that today is also turning to services. Rupit was, from the Middle Ages, the most important settlement in the Collsacabra, a role now held by l'Esquirol. Photo: AnonymousUnknown author (Public domain) What to see and do in Rupit i Pruit
