Conanglell Monument · les Masies de Voltregà, Osona, Barcelona Image of les Masies de Voltregà, not of the place itself. Conanglell is a hamlet in the municipality of Les Masies de Voltregà (Osona, Barcelona), located west of Torelló, on the left bank of the river Ter, in the meander that gives the place its name. It is documented from 1125, and in 1139, already in the 12th century, a fortified tower was built there, the origin of the fortified house that gives the spot its name. In the mid-19th century an army barracks was set up and the chapel of Santa Bárbara was built, single-naved, with a round-arched doorway and a bell-gable; the military left in the mid-20th century, and in the early 21st century the remains were demolished to build a neighbourhood of single-family homes. The chapel, unused for worship since the Second Republic, was turned into a livestock pen and is today abandoned. Photo: Enric (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in les Masies de Voltregà
