The casal d'Alta-riba is a fortified house in Calldetenes (Osona) declared bien cultural de interés nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection), rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries over medieval defences of which it retains walls and arrow slits. It has a ground floor and three storeys under a two-sided roof, with a square-sectioned tower at the north-west corner. In the north wall opens a voussoired doorway with a coat of arms above the central voussoirs, and on the south façade, facing midday, another flat-arched doorway beneath three balconies with a second coat of arms. It is built of rendered rubble masonry imitating ashlar. To the east adjoins the masoveria (tenant farmhouse), rectangular in plan, and at the north-west corner of the wall surrounding the complex stands a single-nave chapel without an apse. It is in good condition.
