Mill of Llobateres Monument · Sant Quirze Safaja, Moianès, Barcelona The Molí de Llobateres, also called the mill of Centelles, de la Torre or de Fontubal, is a fortified mill in the municipal territory of Sant Quirze Safaja, declared bien cultural de interés nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection) in 1949. It stands on the right bank of the river Tenes and was originally powered by a nearby spring, the font Tubal, before a dam was built on the Tenes to increase its capacity. Documented since the 14th century, when it was leased and worked by a certain Arnau Flequer, it was abandoned in the 15th century due to depopulation and resettled from 1486 onward. It retains almost its entire original structure: a tower about ten metres high with walls 130 centimetres thick, which combines the basement housing the wheel, the millstone floor covered by a barrel vault, and the former millers' dwelling.
