The river or stream of Calders rises within the very municipal district of Monistrol de Calders, from the union of the Golarda and Sant Joan torrents, and crosses mountainous terrain, three-quarters covered by pine and holm-oak woods, before flowing into the Llobregat; the riverside woodland that accompanies it is today subject to felling that threatens the quality of the river ecosystem.
