Castle of Marfà Monument · Castellcir, Moianès, Barcelona The castle of Marfà, declared a cultural asset of national interest, is located in the municipality of Castellcir, in the Moianès. The surviving building is actually a farmhouse of rural structure, with a gabled roof and a stone façade facing south; the ground floor has an arcade of round arches, and at the rear two symmetrical wings with added ogee-arched windows. The farmhouse continues the settlement tradition of the small castle of Marfà, already mentioned in the year 939 as castrum Marphani. The territory, formerly independent, was incorporated into the municipality of Castellcir between 1845 and 1848, although its inhabitants preferred to be linked to Moià.
