Tower of Valldejuli Monument · Palafolls, Maresme, Barcelona Image of Palafolls, not of the place itself. A defence tower of the Can Valldejuli farmhouse, in the municipality of Palafolls, in the Maresme district, listed as a cultural asset of national interest. Documented from 1251, when it belonged to the Palafolls family, it passed in 1759 to the Torrent family through the marriage of the heiress (pubilla) Josepa Valldejuli, and in the 19th century an iron foundry was operated there. The tower, round in plan and three storeys high, retains machicolations, loopholes and stone-framed windows; in front of it stands a well, also of stone.
