Tower of Ca n'Amat Monument · Cabrils, Maresme, Barcelona A rural tower in the municipality of Cabrils linked to the fortified farmhouse of Ca n'Amat, declared a cultural asset of national interest. The farmhouse retains the voussoired portal and Gothic windows from the mid-14th century, with three wings perpendicular to the facade and a cellar wing joined by arches of dressed stone. The defence tower, from the 16th century, has a square plan, three storeys covered with vaults and a crenellated terrace roof, and was built to answer pirate attacks on the Catalan coast. Cabrils was part of the jurisdiction of Vilassar Castle until 1820, when it became independent. Photo: Friviere (CC BY 2.5) What to see and do in Cabrils
