Church of Sant Martí de Sobremunt

Parish church of Sobremunt, in the Barcelona Lluçanès, documented since the year 1094, although the present building, facing west and with a two-sided roof, comes from a complete transformation carried out in 1620 that made use of a good part of the original Romanesque walls. The belfry, square in plan and with three tiers, rises above the entrance doorway, whose carved stone voussoir is dated 1890, the year in which a spacious chapel of the Blessed Sacrament was added; already in 1760 it had been extended and decorated with Baroque elements. On one side a chapel ending in a small apse is attached, and on the other a wide courtyard gives access to the rectory. A group of houses forms around it the rural hamlet of Sobremunt.
