Castle of Saldes Monument · Saldes, Berguedà, Barcelona The castle of Saldes is a border castle of the municipality of Saldes (Berguedà), at the foot of the Pedraforca, declared a Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional. It stands next to the village of Saldes, on its north-eastern side, on a hill overlooking the valley. Today it is in ruins, though partly restored: what survives is a wall running along the hill, near the summit, with a wide perimeter marked by substantial walls, remains of buildings resting on the rock, and a small Romanesque chapel at one end, of which a two-storey nave survives, covered with a pointed stone vault, of irregular ashlar laid in squared courses.
