Church of Sant Just i Sant Pastor Monument · Sant Just Desvern, Baix Llobregat, Barcelona Parish church of Sant Just Desvern (Baix Llobregat), located on the Plaça de l'Església, around which the historic centre of the village took shape. An earlier temple, pre-Romanesque or Romanesque, is already mentioned in 986; in 1569 it was decided to build a new church with a Renaissance portal, and between 1575 and 1578 the Occitan master builder Lleonard Bosch constructed the present building, with a single nave and a pentagonal apse covered by a ribbed vault; in 1676 the side chapels were added. Its portal, of classical inspiration, has two Ionic columns supporting a pediment with a coat of arms bearing the bell, the symbol of Sant Just. Burned down on 21 July 1936, it was rebuilt between 1939 and 1943. Photo: Till F. Teenck (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Sant Just Desvern
