The Alícia Foundation at Món Sant Benet Food and drink · Sant Fruitós de Bages, Bages, Barcelona Image of Sant Fruitós de Bages, not of the place itself. A research centre in cooking and food, housed since November 2007 in the Món Sant Benet complex, in the municipality of Sant Fruitós de Bages, a cultural and tourism project by the Fundació Catalunya-La Pedrera built around the thousand-year-old monastery of Sant Benet de Bages. Directed by Ferran Adrià, the Fundació Alícia is a scientific and gastronomic research space unique in the world that can be visited, with a demonstration workshop called “El sentit dels sentits”. The complex also includes an organic vegetable garden on the banks of the Llobregat, in the monks' former orchard, with dozens of varieties of apple and pear trees, allowing visitors to learn about the different types of dry-farming and irrigated cultivation.
