Santa Maria de Veciana Monument · Veciana, Anoia, Barcelona Single-nave church with a semicircular apse decorated with an archivolt window, in the municipality of Veciana (Anoia). The parish of Santa Maria held the seigneurial jurisdiction of almost half the lands of the municipality until the 19th century, and was a suffragan of Sant Pere de Montfalcó. In the last third of the 12th century a reconstruction was carried out, and in the mid-17th century the vault and roof collapsed; a shallow Gothic vault was then raised over the original semicircular arch, which is preserved. The doorway, on the south façade, has a triple archivolt with interlace patterns on the central one, and the bell tower is a bell-gable. The church is undergoing restoration, focused on highlighting its Romanesque elements. Photo: Araceli Merino (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Veciana
