Old Village of Santa Maria de Miralles

The Poble Vell de Santa Maria de Miralles occupies the lower part of the Castell de Miralles, documented since the year 960, in the Anoia comarca. Remains of the old settlement survive there, with its first defensive line, built using the opus spicatum technique, now in ruins amid the vegetation. Beside the complex stands the Romanesque church of Santa Maria del Castell de Miralles, a single-nave building with a slightly pointed vault and a round-arched portal on the south wall, a late-Romanesque work of the 13th century.
