The Festa Major de Piera, in the Anoia, is celebrated over a week in September with popular and cultural activities. Among its most characteristic elements are the gegants Jaume and Elisenda, which represent King James I and Elisenda de Montcada, baptised on 9 September 1995 during the Festa Major itself. They stand up to four metres tall and appear at the town's main festivities accompanied by grallers and cap-grossos.
