Round Tower of Contrast Monument · Argençola, Anoia, Barcelona Circular Romanesque watchtower in the former municipal area of Contrast, now part of Argençola (Anoia, Barcelona), probably built between the late 12th and early 13th centuries. It presided over a farmstead documented since 1241, under the abbatial lordship of Sant Pere dels Arquells and Montserrat, and belonged civilly to the Jorba family and later the Rocabertí family. Cylindrical in plan, it is about 20 metres high and 6.40 metres in external diameter, and is divided into three sections separated by stone vaults; it was originally a defensive fortification and was later used as a water tank. Restored in 1983 by its owner Josep Cortès, it is in excellent condition and was declared a Bien Cultural de Interés Nacional (Catalonia's highest level of heritage protection) that same year.
