Bolet Theatre-Cinema Monument · Vilafranca del Penedès, Alt Penedès, Barcelona The Teatre Cinema Bolet, today the Teatre Municipal Cal Bolet, stands on Carrer de Cal Bolet, on the corner of Carrer del Migdia, in the nineteenth-century urban expansion of Vilafranca del Penedès, next to the Rambla de Nostra Senyora. Built in 1886 in an eclectic style, it has a ground floor and upper floor with segmental and round arches, a timber-framed roof and cast-iron columns, and an interior laid out in stalls, amphitheatre and gallery. Around 1920 the businessman Josep Bolet i Mora also adapted it for showing films, and over the years it hosted political rallies, party presentations, recitals and sporting events, before becoming the municipal theatre.
