Mascaró Liqueur and Cava Factory Monument · Vilafranca del Penedès, Alt Penedès, Barcelona The Fàbrica de Licors i Caves Mascaró, also known as Casa Galtès i Mainé or simply Caves Mascaró, is a modernist building of 1912 by Santiago Güell i Grau, situated in a district of popular architecture close to the Rambla de Nostra Senyora of Vilafranca del Penedès. Until the 1960s the celebrated Mascaró brandy was made there, and it is still used today for ageing the cavas of the same brand. It is a building between party walls, rectangular in plan with an inner service courtyard, ground floor and upper floor beneath an Arab-tile roof with a flat terrace, and an arcaded pergola; its facade is notable for its floral-motif decoration.
