Source of the Hornija River Nature · La Mudarra, Montes Torozos, Valladolid Image of La Mudarra, not of the place itself. The río Hornija, which gives its name and water to half of the Montes Torozos district, rises at the Fuente de Porras, in the municipal area of La Mudarra, at about 848 metres above sea level on the páramo, and flows down, deeply cut, toward the west, carving the slopes typical of these lands. It is a tributary of the Duero, and on its course through Valladolid province it passes through towns such as Peñaflor de Hornija, Torrelobatón and Villalar de los Comuneros, before flowing into the Duero near San Román de Hornija, already on the border with Zamora province.
