Church of San Pedro Apóstol de Valoria Monument · Valoria la Buena, Campiña del Pisuerga, Valladolid A neoclassical church with a central plan whose construction, the work of the architects Fernando and Manuel Gutiérrez following a plan by Manuel Godoy, would have formed a perfect hexagon were it not for the two straight bays added at the chancel and the foot. The central space is covered by a dome decorated with plasterwork and a lantern on the outside, and in its tower, at the foot of the church, remains of an earlier 13th-century building survive. It was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) on 28 October 1993. Beside it, the village also has the hermitage of the Santo Cristo de la Esperanza and the palace of the local viscounts. Photo: Rastrojo (D•ES) (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Valoria la Buena
