The church of San Juan Bautista is the Catholic parish church of Santovenia de Pisuerga, in the province of Valladolid, and one of the two historic buildings in the municipality along with the hermitage of Jesús Nazareno; the municipality today has more than four thousand six hundred inhabitants, after having been an agricultural hamlet. It is a 16th-century church that follows typical Castilian sobriety: its construction began in 1545 and finished in 1616. Its tower stands out, built in brick, bringing a note of colour to the ensemble against the stone of the rest of the church.
