The sexmo of Tera

In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the sexmo of Tera, within the Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Soria, one of the divisions through which the communal use of woodland and pasture was organised across the whole comarca. The sexmos were administrative divisions that originally corresponded to a sixth part of a territory, although their number could vary; the Tierra de Soria came to be divided into five: Frentes, San Juan, Arciel, Luvia and Tera.
