The ruins of the castle of Soliedra Monument · Soliedra, Almazán, Soria Of the castle that once watched over these heights, stretches of wall and other remains survive above the hamlet of Soliedra. Like the rest of Spain's castles, it was given generic protection under the decree of 22 April 1949, which placed under state protection "all the castles of Spain, whatever their state of ruin," and it is on that basis that it now holds the status of Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection). The local heritage is completed by the church of San Esteban Protomártir (Saint Stephen the Protomartyr) and the hermitage of San Roque (Saint Roch).
