The church of Santa María del Castillo

Monument · Cantalapiedra, Tierra de Peñaranda, Salamanca

Declared a Monumento Histórico-Artístico (Spain's heritage designation in force between 1931 and 1985) on 3 June 1931, it preserves Romanesque apses from the period of the resettlement and a Mudéjar body crowned by a great bell-gable tower. It presides over the main square and the medieval plan of the town.
