The village of Gómez Tello

Historical milestone · Gomecello, La Armuña, Salamanca

Image of Gomecello, not of the place itself.

The kings of León entrusted the organisation of settlement to one Gómez Tello, from whose name the place name derives, documented in the thirteenth century as Gomeçello. Within its municipal district the now deserted settlements of Sordos and Hortelanos were also founded.
