In 1539 the settlement, until then belonging to the Order of Calatrava, was transferred along with the rest of the hamlets of Puente del Congosto to the Dukes of Alba; the change incorporated it into the Kingdom of León, although in ecclesiastical matters it continued to depend on Ávila.
