Cañada Real Leonesa and the Way of Saint James Nature · Bustillo del Páramo de Carrión, Vega-Valdavia, Palencia Image of Bustillo del Páramo de Carrión, not of the place itself. The district of Bustillo del Páramo de Carrión, in the middle of the Palencia páramo, is crossed by the Cañada Real Leonesa Oriental, a drovers' road some 700 kilometres long that rises at the Montaña de Riaño, in the province of León, and ends at Montemolín, south of Badajoz, also crossing Valladolid, Segovia, Ávila and Toledo. Alongside it runs the corridor of the Camino de Santiago, which runs parallel to the N-120 road and links Osorno with Sahagún; near the village once stood the depopulated hamlets of Rebolleda and Ponzonava, and the old Hospital Blanco, run by the confraternity of Nuestra Señora la Blanca, sheltered for centuries the pilgrims who passed through these lands.
