Parish church built in 1961 to serve the neighbourhood that grew up with the mining expansion of Guardo (Palencia), dedicated to Santa Bárbara, patroness of miners, whose feast day continues to be celebrated in the town every 4 December. Its construction at the height of the coal boom reflects the growth the municipality experienced in those years.
