Torío River Valley Nature · Garrafe de Torío, Tierras de León, León The Torío valley is a traditional comarca of the province of León formed by the present-day municipalities of Garrafe de Torío and Villaquilambre, a few kilometres from the León capital. Its landscape is typical of a páramo of gentle hills, stretched over the course of the río Torío before it enters the city of León. The corridor is separated from the Bernesga valley by a line of mountains that reaches 1,210 metres at its north-eastern end, while the riverbank drops to 860 metres; numerous streams and minor rivers feed into the Torío from both slopes.
