Purchase of the counts' palace for six pesetas Curiosity · Grajal de Campos, Esla-Campos, León Image of Grajal de Campos, not of the place itself. In 1998 the village bought the Renaissance palace of the counts of Grajal from its owners, a Monumento Nacional (Spain's heritage designation in force until 1931) since 1931 and then in a ruinous state, for the symbolic price of six pesetas. The deal saved the building from disappearing. Photo: José Luis Filpo Cabana (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Grajal de Campos
