What to see and do in Corbillos de los Oteros

Corbillos de los Oteros
Village
Corbillos de los Oteros is a municipality of about 175 inhabitants in the province of León, in the comarca of Los Oteros, situated at 792 metres above sea level and spread across four settlements: Rebollar de los Oteros, Corbillos de los Oteros, San Justo de los Oteros and Nava de los Oteros. Its residents have always been tied to the land, and in the 1980s the arrival of the Porma canal changed the dry-farmed crops, wheat and barley, for irrigated ones such as maize, sugar beet and alfalfa. The canal, which runs alongside the four villages, has produced a contrasting summer landscape: yellow to the east of its course and intensely green to the west.
Porma Canal and the contrast of Los Oteros
Nature
The canal, opened at the beginning of the 1980s, runs past the municipality's four villages and has split the landscape in two: yellow dry farmland to the east and an intense green of irrigated land to the west, a contrast plain to see at the height of summer.
