Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de La Puebla Monument · La Puebla de Arganzón, Ebro, Burgos The church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de La Puebla de Arganzón, in the Burgos stretch of the Ebro Valley, is a late Gothic temple built between the 14th and 15th centuries and renovated several times afterwards. It has a single nave divided into four bays with elegant ribbed vaults and several side chapels, among them the one housing the 16th-century Renaissance pantheon of the Gordejuela family. Also from the 16th century are the choir and the altarpiece, from the Castilian school of Gaspar de Tordesillas, built in 1535 in Plateresque style. The temple, late Gothic with a Baroque tower, has two entrances - one from the 15th century facing the square, and a more modern one next to the tower - and it has been protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) since 1991.
