The halted large-scale development of the pine forest

The project envisaged 7,500 homes, three golf courses, a hotel and a riding club on the pine wood. When the works were halted in 2009, after the complaint by SEO/BirdLife, some 10,000 pines had already been felled and kilometres of access roads opened.
