El Parral
Village
El Parral is a municipality of 64 inhabitants located at 1,050 metres above sea level at the headwaters of the Zapardiel river, between Vita and Chaherrero, in the province of Ávila. Its municipal area, of 10.89 km², is crossed by this river, which as far back as the 19th century watered a place that then had around 101 inhabitants, according to the Diccionario de Pascual Madoz. Its parish is dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, and the hermitage of Nuestra Señora del Parral is preserved within the municipal area.
