Spain's Municipality Farthest from the Sea

Nombela holds the distinction of being the Spanish municipality located furthest from the sea, and indeed from anywhere on the Iberian Peninsula, some 430 kilometres from the nearest beach, that of La Malvarrosa, in Valencia. The fact has caused some confusion, as this record is sometimes wrongly attributed to other municipalities such as Seseña or Escalona, when it is Nombela that officially holds the distinction of the Spanish village furthest from the coast.
