Lucillos, from Luzielos to Today Curiosity · Lucillos, Torrijos, Toledo Image of Lucillos, not of the place itself. Lucillos, in the Torrijos district (Toledo), is first mentioned in 1220 as Luzielos, in an obituary note about a local clergyman named Petrus Michaelis. The village depended as a hamlet on Talavera de la Reina and, from 1369, on the lordship of the archbishops of Toledo, until the Catastro de Ensenada records that in 1752 it was granted to Cardinal Luis María de Borbón. Its name may come from the Latin locellum, little casket, or from val de lucillos, valley of the tombs. Photo: Rodelar (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Lucillos
