The Justice Pillar of Domingo Pérez

Rollo de justicia of Domingo Pérez (Toledo), in the Torrijos district. Of simple construction, it consists of a base on which rises a tall, slender column with a plain shaft topped by a moulding, all of it carved in granite stone. It symbolises the status of a town with its own jurisdiction that the locality obtained in 1669, the year to which the work is attributed. Until the 1990s it stood in the centre of the square, where it also served as a lamppost and as a base for the orchestra's platform during festivities; today it stands facing the church façade.
