Convent of el Piélago Monument · Hinojosa de San Vicente, Sierra de San Vicente, Toledo Image of Hinojosa de San Vicente, not of the place itself. The Convento del Piélago, now in ruins, is located in the Sierra de San Vicente, in the municipal area of Hinojosa de San Vicente (Toledo). Founded in 1687, it belonged to the order of the Discalced Carmelites and existed as such until the First Carlist War, during which it was left in ruins; it is described in Pascual Madoz's Diccionario geográfico-estadístico-histórico de España. Today it is the destination of local pilgrimages and is used for retreats, next to the El Piélago area, near the peak of the same name.
