The Tiétar as it flows through Buenaventura

The river Tiétar flows about two kilometres from the centre of Buenaventura, marking the boundary of the municipality to the north and west after descending from the province of Ávila. Along its course it forms a corridor of riverside vegetation between the Sierra de San Vicente and the foothills of the Gredos, along one of the area's key river stretches.
