The festivities of Saint Quiteria of Marjaliza are held from 21 to 23 May, with a procession to the saint's hermitage, religious services and popular celebrations. According to local tradition, Saint Quiteria suffered martyrdom here in the early 2nd century and was buried on the outskirts of the town, where the hermitage that bears her name stands today, in one of the highest villages of the Montes de Toledo district.
