The widow potatoes of Villamuelas Curiosity · Villamuelas, Mesa de Ocaña, Toledo Image of Villamuelas, not of the place itself. Patatas viudas are a traditional peasant dish from Villamuelas, in the Mesa de Ocaña district (Toledo). They are made with potatoes, oil, pepper and paprika, water, crushed garlic and parsley, with no other accompaniment, hence their name (widowed potatoes). They form part of a local repertoire that also includes migas, gachas, almohadillas and rabbit with potatoes. Photo: Cpvillamuelas (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Villamuelas
