The festival of the Cristo del Gran Poder, Villamuelas's main celebration (Mesa de Ocaña, Toledo), is held on the last weekend of April. According to local tradition, it originated in a period of drought during which residents brought out a forgotten image of Christ, after which it immediately began to rain; ever since, this event has been commemorated every year in honour of the village's patron.
