Hermitage of la Virgen del Rosario de Pastores Monument · Huerta de Valdecarábanos, Mesa de Ocaña, Toledo The hermitage of the Virgen del Rosario de Pastores, in Huerta de Valdecarábanos, was inaugurated on 16 November 1910, designed and built by the architect Jesús Carrasco-Muñoz y Encina. It follows the Art Nouveau style prevalent at the time, both in its architecture and decoration, combined with elements recalling the Romanesque and Gothic, such as the buttresses and pinnacle, or the Byzantine, such as its dome. With a rectangular floor plan and a single nave divided into five bays with groin vaults, it preserves an interior frieze with floral decoration and medallions depicting the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary. In the main chapel stand the altarpiece and the camarín of the Virgen del Rosario de Pastores, and on the Epistle side lie the remains of the donors who funded the church.
