Church of Santo Tomás Cantuariense Monument · Dosbarrios, Mesa de Ocaña, Toledo The church of Santo Tomás Cantuariense, dedicated to the Archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Becket, is the parish church of Dosbarrios. On the same site there was a 13th-century church which, due to the growth of the population, was rebuilt in the 16th century; it retains a bell tower, although its façade never came to include a second tower like that of Toledo Cathedral. It displays Renaissance architecture, with a robust structure and semicircular arches, with Herrerian details. Inside are preserved works by Juan Correa de Vivar, one of the most prominent Castilian painters of the Renaissance, and a main altarpiece covered in gold leaf, by an architect of the Churriguera family. The vault fresco, depicting the four evangelists, is attributed to Claudio Coello. Photo: Malopez 21 (CC BY-SA 4.0) What to see and do in Dosbarrios
